Music is an important part of the academy.
Each class has a music lesson every week and all the children take part in singing practice once a week during assembly time.
We have a strong guitar, drums and piano tuition group, we offer class ukulele lessons and we also have musicians come into school and perform for the children on a regular basis.

When young people make music together, they work toward a common goal. With this in mind, we celebrate music by having a weekly music assembly. We also have a beautiful
Christmas Carol Concert held in the atmospheric St Mary’s Church in Denham Village. We hold various class assemblies and a year 6 Graduation Assembly too. As part of our new E-Act Enrichment Passport all E-Act schools are encouraged to put on a production at the end of the academic year which will develop the confidence and skills of our pupils. We are clear about the importance of music: it will ensure not just that more children have access to the greatest of art forms, but that they do better as a result in every other subject.
Music education is also important because it will give students a way to connect with other people. Children are naturally very social, and it’s important to encourage them to build relationships by providing them experiences to share with each other. Singing and playing musical instruments will allow children to work together towards a final product (such as an end-of-year performance). This encourages bonding and will provide students with something to reminisce on together in the future.
We also have class music lessons in the violin and drumming taught by skilled music professionals from the Buckinghamshire Music Trust.
Plus, we offer the opportunity to have private lessons in the guitar, piano and drumming. Those pupils who receive pupil premium funds have equal opportunity to access these lessons.
